| Help with programming please
Ok i have a week to do this assignment, but i cant program to save my life so i have no idea where to start, i've been told i can use either java or c++.
Basically in a nutshell i have to model a 2d 'ball shooter' (ouch) simulation which shows a ball being shot at a ramp and then either hitting or flying over a raised platform, it must model gravity, and appropriate responses from collisions. Any links to any websites or help in general that could help me learn how to do this sort of thing would be greatly appreciated as this really goes over my head and i havent a clue where to start! |

| You're kidding right? Either you haven't attended class in about two semesters or you're making this up.
On a more serious note though, you are pretty much screwed man. You have no idea how to program in either language, and no idea how to use graphics libraries, let alone how to do the collision detection or model the physics.
What class is this for, and is there more to this story you are not sharing?

ok fuller story i'm on the second year of a diploma and have passed everything except this programming module,so this is the referal work for it.
we basically just got taught about the gravity and physics side of this in class, and we were left to ourselves to program it. Like I said we can use either c++ or java. We did some programming in the first year which I did ok, but that was in C(just regular) Which is in no way the same as these. I originally tried it in c++ and completely messed it up,so I was thinkin of trying java for this referal, but i dont know where to start |

Why don't you post up your attempted code for C++ so we can have a look at it...well, not me, but the programmers here. Then they'll have an idea of what you're working with or how close/far you are away from doing what you requested help with.
Just use the code tags so it can be read easily. |

The last assignment was quite different it was a space invaders but with one alien type thing. i only managed to get a square that moved across the screen also i dont have the code as i had to give in the floppy with the original work and lost all my work on hard disk thanks to a dodgy driver update a few months ago. I recieved the referal work couple of weeks ago but didnt start it till now as I was in a full time summer job till last weekend, basically i have a completely free week to do it but i need some help gettin started |

Can you get started at all? I mean, if you can't even get started, how do you expect to complete the project? Not being rude, but it almost sounds like you're going to need somebody to do most of the work for you. At least make an attempt and post some code up to show that you're willing to try...you're not going to get handouts without any effort in, mmmk? |
