I don't have it hosted anywhere yet, so just copy the text and save it to notepad as a HTML file and open in your browser.
Pictures are hosted on PB.

Anyway I know everything besides the banner (which was made by nick) is quite simple and I plan to have them made more "spiffy" but what I've got right now is my basic color and layout.

Any suggestions?
I'm using notepad mostly and some of Word to do this.
Can someone add in so I can type text beside the side menu. This is something I don't know how to do. Whenever I add text it's at the bottom of the page below the graphics.

Anyway, suggestions, tips?

I can easily make a table for you that will let you add text to the right of the links after I finish some of my homework . I don't know if I copied the source wrong, but why is your Logo/Banner on th bottom of the page?? And what is that red bar on the side for?

Edit- Do you have Photoshop? I'm a Photoshop noob(and graphically challeneged) and by using ideas from a different tutorials, I made this "professional but simple" layout.

wow... thats got to be about the most unreadable code I've ever seen....

Maybe the code isn't showing up right for me...
http://tux.rh.rit.edu/~andrew/fma.html

but the banner at the bottom seems really goofy and creates a very small area for actual content. Whats up with the bright red image on the right side?

The buttons are pretty crude and look odd with the space inbetween them. I would highly recommend reading up on using CSS and using unordered lists as a navigational system with CSS. You will end up with a much cleaner looking, easier to work with page.

The color scheme overall seems a litle harsh to me. Red background is just too bright.

Personally I'd start from scratch.. use tables or CSS posistioning for pictures. I wouldn't let Word even touch one of my web pages. It pretty much destroys them the way it does its hacked html code.

Yah stick with Notepad or Wordpad for coding HTML, unless you have Frontpage or Dreamweaver (or something similar). Word sucks for webpages. How experienced are you with HTML btw?

Edit- Defitantly use tables, I remember when I first started making webpages and I didn't know how to make tables. All I got to say are my pages were much nicer when I started using them.

I'm fairly new to HTML but I do know the basics.
I have dreamweaver but not on this computer, I had this urge to start on my website again this weekend but I'm not at home and notepad/word is all that is here.

Yes I have photoshop but not where I am. Besides I'm still learning how to do things on it and I'm really not good yet.

If you want to whip up something that would be cool. Basically I'd want eight buttons on the left side.

Try attaching the actual .html document to techimo. Maybe something wasnt copied/pasted properly?

You might need to zip the file so that it is a format techimo accepts.
