Hey guys, for those of you who learned ASP.NET out of a book, what would you recommend? I'm not a complete n00b, I understand what tables, frames, forms etc are....
I was thinking about Sams Teaches ASP.NET in 21 days
Thanks in advance .

I don't want to second guess you here, but why ASP? There are many other programmer-friendly web languages out there... As for the book choice, I tried the Sams 21 days book for ASP myself and didn't care much for it personally.

Mostly because I've been a fan of Visual Basic style programming, so I didn't think this would be too much of a hard transition...
Would you recommend PHP instead? Maybe you can recommend a book on that as well :P? |

I don't know of a book. I used to have a textbook in ASP.Net, but forgot the name. I just wanted to put in my $.02 re ASP.Net. Theres nothing wrong with it, it is user friendly, lots of people like it, so learn it if you want. Also, it doesn't hurt to learn a syntax that you may use for both web programming as well as thick-client programming. |
