| my website looks too low budget, help me
seriously my site is too low budget looking, how do you guys get such great looking backgrounds and perfect setups?
look at the background of this site i found as a link on mntsnow's site http://24.116.115.130/ how do you get a background like that?
looking at my webpage you can see that the background of the table of links is white, that was white because the background of the pictures used had a white background. how can i get rid of the layers i don't want and have just the words with an INVISIBLE background? |

Chooco,
Could I please have a link to your site, so I may take a look, so I can see what you may do to improve it?
Thanks.

Well the background on that site is just a little square that has like to lines of color and it tiles when you set it to the backgound.
On your site I would remove the table boarder that you have your links to other pages in.
Get something like GIMP or other photo program and do a select by color and try to remove the background color on those images like the very top one, remove the black and the white white on the next one. |

Unless a background is subtle, like mntsnow's, it can make your page look worse. Don't jump on the tacky bandwagon. Keep it simple if you make a background image. Personally, I prefer solid colors of an odd hue. Then again, I'm not right in the head most days.

Chooco. Doing the images is pretty easy. You just create them on a transparent matte. and use a little bit of javascript to spice things up and you would be amazed at what you can create with Frontpage and other wysiwyg editors. My Digitalmntsnow site is made with just Frontpage and a little bit of handpecked coding. Except of course the splash homepage which was done in Flash5 by none other than our own Socal (she did it for me as I host a few of her sites on my servers)
