| USED 64MB RDRAM Memory cards for Dell 8100
Hi,
I'm fixing up a computer for high schoold student. They don't need top of the line.
The Dell Dimension 8100 has 4 slots for RDRAM.
Currently there are two 64MB memory cards and two dummy cards.
Do you know where I can get two used RDRAM, speed PC800, 64MB memory cards to put in the two dummy slots, to make it a 256MB system?
Thanks

Hi and welcome to TechIMO!
RDRam is rare to find nowadays, and always comes at an expensive price. Are you from the USA? some sites that carry it may only ship to the USA.
here is a 128stick of pc800, 64mb sticks are harder to find but I will try to find some for cheap. (they have two in stock) http://www.stalliontek.com/ProductDe...e=MCRAMB-10160

| Can I add the two 218's to the two 64's?
Hi,
THanks for the quick and friendly response!
I took a look at the StallionTech website and they do have 2 128's in stock. I would need 2 since I have to install a matched set. Nice website!
Would you happen to know if I could add the two new 128's where the dummy slots are-keep the two existing 64's , and have a 128+128+64+64 system. That doesn't seem to add up. I'm a website designer by trade, but have put in a few new hard drives for friends and family. This is my first crack at memory.
Thanks much,
Rita. |

Yea, it does seem like and odd number, but the two 128MB sticks will work just fine with the 2 64MB sticks. |

I used to own a computer with rambus aswell, had 2x 256 and 2x 128 at one time and it worked fine aswell. As long as the one's operating together are the same, it will be fine. |

Hi,
cmptrgydv: what would you be asking for the 64MB sticks ( now that I've joined this forum today, I've already learned to call them "sticks" and not "cards"
Thanks much,
Rita. |

Hi,
cmptrgydv : Ok great. I'll take a look at ebay. I'm and active ebay member, and so far have had real good luck with most of the purchases. Thanks for taking the time to find the link!
If I do talk the owner into sprining for the two 128 sticks on StallionTech.com
there are 2 different ones to order and I want to make sure I order the right ones?
What is the difference:
RAMBUS 184PIN 128MB 800MHz Infineon/Major Brand - OEM
or
RAMBUS 184Pin 128MB ECC 800MHz Major Brand - OEM
Thanks,
Rita |

ECC is the key difference. Some boards accept ECC ram while other's don't. Is it possible that you know the make/model of his motherboard? |
