Best Way to Create Website?

Ok, whats the best way to make a website. I know HTML pretty good, but its a little boring you know? I have access to both FrontPage and Dreamweaver. Im just looking to create a small business site. Its mostly just for knowledge, because i want to learn something new. Which one is easier to use and/or makes better pages?

thanks alot

i have used frontpage before. it is relativley straight forward and easy to use, however dreamweaver is the prefered choice of many. i know it has a lot more features and i hear it is easy to use as well. my vote, dreamweaver.

I am a webmaster in the US military. For a static website, elthought I knot HTML and XHTML and could do it in notepad, I prefer Dreamweaver as it is intuitive and powerful. If you need dynamic features, such as database polling or user management, I would HIGHLY recommend learning PHP and use a PHP/MySQL server. PHP is easy and fun to use.

If you have access to both, then try them both. Dreamweaver has my vote but I am not skilled in .html.

Try to avoid frontpage... its typically not used in corporate and produces POOR code built primarily for IE.

Dreamweaver produces more compatible code for alternative browsers.

Yeah, avoid Frontpage if possible. It will setup the pages to look good in IE and have slight inconsistencies with other browsers.

The web admin here prefers Dreamweaver and using straightup HTML.

I hate FrontPage as well. Use Dreamweaver, even though it could be confusing, you will not get problems associated with FrontPage (HTML mess-ups).

You can use CGI.pm if you know how to use Perl. But that will require validations of all the fields passed in since you can add Unix commands to a text field by ending the value in a semi-colon then putting in the end.

The best thing is, all code generated by CGI.pm is XHTML 1.0 Trans valid , which is good if you are making good sites and stuff. But it will also take some time to learn.
