Need help finding stable JAVA to refresh webcam image every second

I need some help finiding a good JAVA class or possible some javascript to refresh an image from a webcam on a htmll page I am working on. We need to refresh the image every second.

I would like to use a free solution but should you know of something that costs, please still let us know.

We have tried Camzor (crashes Netscape on the mac...) and also a java script solution (image hiccups) as well as anfy cam (image huccups). Does anyone have a solution for any of these problems?

does the java applet or javascript file need to interface directly with the camera? Or are you just trying to refresh an image that exists somewhere on your webserver (and gets updated by some other means).

I only need to refresh the image that is being dumped to my server every second. The camera FTPs the image to a directory...

Do the images have sequential file names, random names, or does the camera overwrite the image each time?

The image gets renamed by the server twice a second.
