smtp mail off server

how do i mail using an off server smtp account via php?
account webmail here:webmail.e7even.com

site here:http://simhen.hostingrapid.com/v3-politica.php

displayed throgh this frame:http://www.solarnova.co.uk/politica/

(note the frame is NOT currently directing to the site yet)

it seems mail() command wont work on my e7 server if you post to the page from off-server
the mail() command wont work in the hostingrapid server as the from address isnt a hostingrapid one(and it is appently disabled in the free account anyway)

any clues?

from my experiance with teh mail function, you have to be very presise on how you setup the mail. I have used phpmailer in the past. http://phpmailer.sourceforge.net/ It does the work for you and makes things alot simpler, it works very well
