Question
can I fill out a form from the client side automatically?

I visit a website every day where I have to input some basic information (name, etc.) into a form. I then press 'SUBMIT' and the information is uploaded.

Basically, what I want to do is to run some sort of script to fill in that information automatically. Is there some way to do this?
thanks,
-Z

I know that in Opera (a web browser alternative to Firefox and Internet Explorer), there is an option to save frequently entered form data so that it can be completed with the press of just two keys on the keyboard. This would involve changing browsers, of course, which not everyone wants to do. Firefox may have a suitable plugin that does the same thing.

RoboForm for Firefox. There's also an IE version, if you look around the RoboForm website.

Should do what ya need it to.

Opera is free, too. And they just released a new version today, so you can try out all their other new, snazzy features too.

Google toolbar has a feature called "AutoFill" that works really good.

well thank you all very much for your advice - I ended up going with ROBOFORM and i'm pretty happy with it. Although I think it's worth mentioning that the reason I didn't go with opera was based on this article -- http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=9056

I'm not sure how reliable it is, but of everything that I read, this bothered me.

thanks again

That is a very old article about Opera, back when the free version had advertisments in it and you had to pay for the version without ads, it has completely changed now and is completely free without ads.

So let me get this straight.
1) You read and believed a three year old article.
2) Your didn't read the first paragraph from the author stating
Quote:
Andrew Busigin says: "The best advice I have, is to disregard the article entirely, until a more complete and competent analysis can be properly prepared, reviewed, and published."

3) You didn't click on or read the updated link at the top saying the article was wrong and apoligizing for publishing it. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=9154

Well done sir, well done.
