Currently I am in high school(out for the summer) but i am interested in learning about the field of Game Design such as level designer and such, anyone have any good links or tutorials that might get me started.

have you tried any of the sdk kits that come with major game releases

source sdk is a challenging but rewarding piece of kit to work with and its free if you own hl2

To try out 3D design look into Blender 3D. It's not used very often in game manufacturing(they usually use 3DS Max) but it is free.

I have tried using hammer and some of the other SDK things included through steam, i have run into to some errors with all of these. Which i haven't found any fixes for. Do they ship a level editor or anything of that sort with Unreal Tournament or nay FPS like that?
