| Windows Scripting Host and its functionality
Hey guys, i was reading over a book i picked up that was an intro to scripting and batch files in Windows, i have written some simple batch files before that just map network drives etc.. But i have always been intrigued by scripting, little did i know it was as easy as VB (somewhat) and typing it in notepad and just saving it with a .vbs extension, i thought you had to have something to execute it, but i was wrong, Windows XP already knows what to do i tried a sample script out of the book last night that looked at my C:\ and told me all the space that was used, not real useful expecially because the numbers came back unseperated by commas
I wanted to know where i could find more, im googling as i type this, about the WSH and all its "classes" and functionality, is there a place or something that will show me all the commands that are able to be used by VBScript as well as their options, since i dont have Intellisense like in Visual Studio i wanted to be able to know what is acceptable and what is not....
Any hints/thoughts/comments ?

heh you know as well as i do, that i have no idea what i need
Anyway yea i researched them more and was looking at it, its pretty much just Visual Basic, i also ran across a tutorial and a place to test your VBScript on www.w3schools.com
Ive used that site before for HTML and CSS stuff, but they have VBScript among other languages on there too. I guess what i was looking for was a program or a place on the net that was like a visual representation of an object broswer of each object, what its functions are etc.. I know they have an object browser built into VisualStudio but i know notepad doesnt , so i wonder if there are any programs out there for writing VBScript that have some sort of Intellisense to them so its easier to learn, than just using notepad? |
