| Anyone have any suggestions? I've taken a task on that may have been more than i can manage. I don't really have the most up-to-date tools at my disposal (flash 5 and DW 4) i will be getting Studio 8, but i would like to know what the concept is behind building a gallery in flash? Book suggestions, and web-site direction would be awesome... |

I would recommend you stay away from flash for something like this. Flash should not be abused, IMHO the only thing it should really be used for is games and advertisements/images. |

I would reccomend PHP with a MySQL backend, and a template engine would really help for the future.
If you want to skip out on some of the time consuming parts you could even borrow some of the backend from phpBB3. Like the template system, DBAL, etc. |

i have no experience in coding.
my instinct is to go with WYSIWYG tools. i work in adobe products on a daily basis and am accustomed to this type of designing.
I'm not unwilling to branch my knowledge out, but would like to speed up the delivery process if you know what i mean.
Do you think that studio 8 would be a good idea? |

I don't use WYSIWYG tools, I do all my web work from notepad++. So I never tried getting familiar with most of the extras Adobe has. |

I think if you had the time, you could do both Flash and HTML based site.
There are many sites that utilize flash to an extreme and it really makes it stand out. If designed and implemented properly, flash can make one beautiful page. Of course, keeping the size down (for loading times) is key as well.
