I think we need to find you a good online tutorial! you can't crossfade things like images or text with just html or css. You can use flash, jscript or an animated image
and to answer your other random question about jscript and security alerts NO it shouldn't cause a security pop-up in IE it might have something to do with the code you are trying to use??
