Hey guys,
So I am going to help a friend set up the website for his non-profit org that he is starting up. I want to get a .org site (the one I am looking at is available) and get cheap hosting. Any suggestions? Requirements I am looking for is email addresses (that I can at least forward for now), and very cheap as we don't know how well this project will take off. I have been looking at GoDaddy's economy hosting, but wanted some opinions.

GoDaddy is generally my goto provider... they have a good package with relatively good customer support... they'll give you shell access (if you need it)... unless you find an amazing deal elsewhere... i'd go for GoDaddy |

I'll never go back to godaddy hosting, I've seen free hosts with better reliability.
For real cheap and easy hosting, I'd probably use 1&1, and for domain registration I'd take godaddy. |

at the least, godaddy for registration. I haven't had any connectivity problems from them, but I hardly ever access my site.

Also, in the meantime is there any semi-decent free web host to at least get a place holder up? |

Been with GoDaddy a few years now. Never had a problem and I have a dozen sites with them. GoDaddy will give you free hosting for one domain if you register with them.

Hmm.. how long is the free hosting? As long as I renew the registration? or only a month or a year? |

Awesome, got it all set up... Just did a 5 minute template job for now, but the curious can check it out at Lodging - Home Page
though my ISP is using an old cache of it and I can't view it yet :-( |
