Go crazy and make yourself a new command line system!
I did have a thread running a while back on an idea for a program but it seems to have vanished!

What language are you going to be writing this program in?
Will it be a simple app with a GUI or will it be client-server or multi-tear?
Have you been to SourceForge.net lately and looked at any of the projects there? There's always something new and cool to discover at SourceForge. Contrary to popular belief you don't have to be running Linux to run most of the software being developed there. Actually, there's lots of really cool software being written there that's only being done for the Win32 platform. :-(
Write back and give us more details please. I'm not very imaginitive myself either but there are plenty here who are very willing to help. And judging by the avator's I've seen I'd say they're quite creative too.
BTW, head to AnyEdit.org and check out thier Text Editor. You can configure it for most any language. It still has a few bugs but I highly recommend it. Sure beats notepad......

I think project management software could use some more attention. Maybe something simple to use that isn't targeted just towards managers. More like a powerful task manager. More integrated features like task lists (and check lists), journal, collaboration, file links, etc. I saw a program slightly similiar to this on unix before but can't remember the name. They may already be something like this I just haven't seen (except for electronic filing cabinet type programs), but thought I'd throw it out. |

I could use a decent multitrack music recording software. built in drum machine, midi sequencer, unlimited live input,3rd party plug-ins compatible, each channel records a clean wav, or MP3 file. I could go on, just an idea

Alright, have decided to try to make my own GUI header file/files. Have never attempted anything like this, and to be honest have very little experience using GUI's in C++. Should make a pretty cool project. Hmmmmm, now where do I start :P
As for an actual program, my girlfriend wants me to make a little program to keep track of her monthly (nm to much information) lol Easy program, I just want to use my own GUI with it. Anyways, thanks for any comments guys or girls.

What do you mean by making a GUI thing? Are you using Visual C++? You could use VB, because all you do is make GUI stuff with that. If you're using straight C++, it may even be easier to use Java and the AWT to make a GUI that runs off a command line.
