Create a Pop-up menu

I would like to create a pop up menu (containing a brief description of information). So when the mouse is hovered over an image, the menu pops up showing the information. This is for a web page. I know it's javascript that I need to create but I'm not that good with java.

View this web site. VETS GWAC Team This gives an example of what I am trying to accomplish. When you hover over the images a menu pops up with information. This is exactly what I want to create.

Can someone tell me how to go about doing this? Or send me some links to some sites that would give me the code on this.

The effect you have posted a link to and are referring to can be pulled off with css. In fact thats what they appear to be doing.

Your best bet to learn this is to view the page source for the site. If you find the right section you will find that they have divisions assigned to the information that pops up and it is set as hidden. It is my guess ( I didn't look at their css) that on mouseover (aka hover state of a link) of the link the div is set to visible.

You can use tools like Firefox Developer plugin or Firebug to review the css that the site is delivering.
