firefox wont load my images.

i have a webite in which a .swf loads images via an .xml file. recently, I changed the .xml to hold more information for a html version of the flash site.

when my site was only the flash version, my xml tags for each image looked something like this:

    galleries/arche_povera/coat_dwg_front.jpg

all i did to accomodate the html site was add some extra info for each image to the same .xml file. so for each image it now looks like this:

    galleries/arche_povera/coat_dwg_front.jpg

    <imgfile>coat_dwg_front.jpg</imgfile>
    <imgthumbwidth>50px</imgthumbwidth>
    <imgthumbheight>50px</imgthumbheight>
    <imglarwidth>800px</imglarwidth>
    <imglarheight>534px</imglarheight>

the only problem now is that firefox wont load the images. it will load the .swf, and everything seems to play okay, but the images will not load. i dont think it is a server problem, because everything works fine from IE. I suspect it might be something with how the different browsers parse data but I dont know anything about that.

    please help!

i just realized that after I browse through the images on the html site, that they appear when i open the flash site.

although, when i clear my browser cache, cookies, etc., and try to view the images on the flash site, they no longer appear. its almost as if I have to "initialize" them first from the html site.

    the sites are

    mike von tiesenhausen architect (flash)

    and

    mike von tiesenhausen architect

i have absoloutly no clue what is going on here. can someone explain it to me?

similar. did you find a solution yet

I'm hoping for your sake by now, you found a solution. could you post it if so.

    or anyone else...

    here's my situation.

I'm finishing building my website, a real simple html site done with dreamweaver. It was almost all done and I made some changes to a page and re-put it. It shows up fine on safari but not on firefox or ie. It's just a jpg embedded in a table carved up with image maps. Super simple. The whole site is built that way and the rest of it is working fine, just not 2 pages. I'm hoping it's just a quirk of my ftp as that's happened before but if anyone has any real ideas or explanations, that would be good.

a bit more info: The pages load but you don't see the jpgs associated. On a pc you get a broken link logo. on the mac you just get a blank white screen. the link is there if you mouse over it but you see nothing.

link so we can see the code?

just asking for "the fix" is like telling your doctor "I hurt somewhere, can they fix it?"
