Button problem in Flash Pro 8

Hey everybody. I hope this is the place for my very annoying problem to be solved...

I am working in Flash Pro 8, and I am building a music-player with a multilayer button (See bellow).

Frame 1 actionscript tels my player to pause and frame 3 to play.
The top layer (NODES) is a movieclip of some nodes dancing on the top of the flash. I need them to be a part of the button to control that they dissapear while the player is paused! (As I know absolutely NOTHING about actionscripts). Now, my problem is that, tho they are a part of the button, i do not want them (The content of the layer NODES) to be clickable in the button.
If they are, you can just click on a node while playing to stop the player... that's not good /

    Do I make sense?

Someone please help me, before the last of my hair falls off....
