Razorbytescomputers (finished)
Razorbytes Custom Computers
I had a thread about this I know. But I dont I'm going to make any changes to it for now (I know Roots you gave me some suggestions, but they are a little too complicated for me to have to learn at the moment! I'll concentrate on my studies and maybe during my month-long June break I'll tweak my site more) because I'm a little behind on schoolwork.
Once again @ Roots, you said my previous site looked nice and professional. Does this match up? IMO I think it looks much better
.
FYI this is something like what my old site looked like. IMO its too segmented and detached.

I agree with your comments about the old site. I think things there just seemed to separated. My only issue with your new site is that the background behind the text is the same as the background all the way outside the content area. It gives a really weird feeling on a high resolution monitor. That's the one thing I liked about the old page better. I think it dealt with the unused space around the edges better.
I also don't know if I like the pic of the computer on the homepage.
Last comment is everything is just so dark!!
Overall I think it was an upgrade, but just pointing out the stuff I notice. Not that I think I could do any better honest... ya know? Presentation isn't really my thing. I'm a tech design/code monkey kinda guy.

I'm short because I'm out in a sec but ditton the home page, you can't tell what the pic is so its not good. Second check it in IE in IE8 on W7 its not the same as FF3.

That's what it looks like a radiator from the houses back east. I don't even have a clue what its supposed to be.
Looks like maybe a NAS case or a server of some sort??
Just a thought about one aspect of the site, the 80+ page.
For one I wouldn't make that a BIG selling point on the main page. That is one of the biggest points that stands out. You want the focus to be more on what you do and what you offer. 80+ should be secondary. Tone that down a bit. Secondary to that most "high end" customers don't worry about energy efficiency and if they do they know the PSU is the component that "draws power from the wall socket".
Don't mean to sound like an ASS but if you are going for the HIGH end gamer market or custom build market, market it that way and don't use a lot of layman's terms. People that seek out custom boxes most likely know their stuff...would you want someone to talk down to you when you are trying to plan a $2k custom build?
I'd also skip the heading
"Are computers from Razorbytes Energy Efficient?"
and then start then paragraph with
"Make a choice you can feel good about."

Thanks for the advice. I don't just do high end builds though. I was trying to find a way to say. You know, I do really cheap budget builds & really expensive high-quality high-end builds too at the same time. I suppose I'll probably need more pictures on my site no? I have no time (and not enough expertise as of yet) to make a really nice site filled with pictures though.

I wouldn't say you need lots of pics, eventually a gallery would probably be a good idea or some example builds would be nice. But thats not really that big a deal.
What I mean by the high end builds is that is what you are mainly marketing yourself as. So to me I wouldn't want to talk it down too much. Even OEM's don't talk it down as much as that quoted line. Keeping it simple is one thing but under doing it can be worse than over doing it.

I think the site looks great and professional.

I have to say that I like the picture, I think it blends in well.

April 30th, 2009, 10:44 PM #14A lot better than the slogan I used for my hardware store. "We have Cherry here!" course I had that because Walmart or Lowes at the time didn't have Cherry wood. In the end Lowes got cherry and I had to close a month later.Think pure power Think a computer from Razorbytes

Ok.....
And I'd rather if you didnt post pictures like that in my thread in the future.. Or you could try just not posting in em anymore..
(to everyone else)
As for the picture, I know its weird. I think so too. Its just that I've been very busy with school, so I decided to actually finish the pages on my site first. I have been trying, just not very hard (as you can clearly see). When I have time I'll try harder to find something better
. Promise.
Right now I have 5 essays stacked up on my so I have to get started! 3 literature essays (The Duchess of Malfi, The Dublin Plays and The Great Gatsby, if youre curious
) and 2 history essays (the Middle East and China).

Ok, I can "live" with that! ROFL

However (you knew that was coming old friend...he,he,he)..
Right next to it..."Think Pure Power. (period) Think. (period) Razorbytes Computers (nothing)
It should be like:
Think Pure Power.
Think.
Think Razorbytes Computers. (or Think About Razorbytes Computers.)
OR
Think Pure Power.
Think Razorbytes Computers.
And I don't like the fact that the pictures on the pre-builds list a defualt case, yet another case is pictured. Show me what you're going to build me and let me see the options below
P.S. And if you were in the U.S., I would let you build me one PMF
. Nice work, I'm just being picky to try to help you out!!

I made a few more updates to my site. It took me two whole months to learn how to make a form on my site that converts the info into an email. Two months. The best bit? I found out after scouring the net over and over for a good guide that the mistake I made was really really simple. All that was wrong was that I put one file in the wrong place. One file. Grr. At least I learnt something new

The forms are here (click on the configure buttons below the build specs)
