Question Are there any programmers in here?

I have a website that was created through a custom built php builder. The builder was created by soholaunch. I want to be able to re-write my url's so that they are more search-engine friendly. (i.e "pretty" urls) Tech support that I work with on my site, won't re-write them for me or show me how to do it myself b/c the builder is a general/generic builder and re-writing my urls would be considered "customizing" my site. I'm not good at code/programming, so I don't trust myself to try to do it.

I thought I had found a plug-in that would help me on soholaunch.com, but the program says it doesn't work on customized templates that use
    customized pgm-auto_menu.php.

I believe that's exactly what I have, since I had my template specifically built. It uses pgm.menu subsystems in it.

    Help!

If "you're not good at code/programming" then I don't think that I'm going to be able to convey years of knowledge and skills to you in a post or two. I think you should look to hire a developer to do your URL rewriting project because doing URL rewriting either via PHP or via mod_rewrite is not a simple thing to do.

    And welcome to techimo .

Thanks Scott for the reply and the welcome to TechIMO.

I did recently update my builder, which helped change the url's for my main categories to "pretty" url's. For example: www.city-girl-electronics.com/cameras.php. I also got a plug-in that places the names of the individual products in the title area (ie. the blue area at the very top if Internet Explorer), but still, the individual names of the products/pages don't show up in the urls.

I definitely understand why you wouldn't be able to tell me in a few posts how to program it myself. I think I always knew I was going to have to hire someone. From what I understand it to be [cost wise], I just can't afford to do that just yet.

Just out of curiosity though, if asked you or someone with your capabilities to do something like re-write url's, approx. how much would you charge? Thanks for your time.
