Free Masking URL and E-Mail Forwarding Services?

Hello, I hope you are well.

I recently registered a university student organization that mentors middle school students through domain name registrar GoDaddy.com. The members of the organization would like free e-mail forwarding (e.g. e-mails sent to marie@studentgroup.org would go to marie@gmail.com). Also, they would like the site, which is hosted for free on Google Sites, to have its URL masked for free (e.g. when visitors go to studentgroup.org, they would not see sites.google.com/site/studentgroup/home but "studentgroup.org" in the address bar).

I used to use MyDomain.com for free URL masking and free e-mail forwarding, but I think they started to charge for these services recently. Can someone recommend a reliable, easy-to-use, and free service?

    Thanks,
    Vic

With the spring semester about to start back up, I still have not been able to figure out how to get the e-mail forwarding part down. Fortunately, GoDaddy.com does offer free URL masking, so that's taken care of.

Any help on the e-mail forwarding issue?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

It depends on how you have the MX record/details for "studentgroup.org" set up, and whether you have the ability within the 'holding area' for it to be configured to forward out....

If you/they are running Exchange, then you could configure it to forward all mail that hits that users mailbox to their external e-dress, and if the 'holding area' is smart enough, you may be able to configure it there instead....

Personally, I have a mail carrier that delivers all of my mail (for the 10 domain names I have) to my server that runs Exchange, but the same carrier can also be set to use individual mailboxes - as opposed to the '*@domain-name.ext' "catchall" that I use - and each mailbox can be set up separately to all of the other ones.......
I've seen the light... It was green, flashy and attached to a Network Interface Card...
Whenever someone says "You can't miss it", I invariably do...
