What is your preferred PHP editor?
I am using PSPad right now, it's a simple text editor with syntax highlighting. I like it because it can open almost any type of text file and it is fast (many times faster than Dreamweaver).
What PHP editor are you using and why?

I use Notepad++ as it does everything I need it to do - including pulling any diags I need to go into (for work) and it also automagically marks the different HTML/PHP scripts to help show how well it is written...or at least whether the "code" has been completed..
For example of what I've been doing on my site (well, one of my sites) look at this:
Nude_Lewd_Man's SiteI've seen the light... It was green, flashy and attached to a Network Interface Card...Whenever someone says "You can't miss it", I invariably do...

Notepad 2 for me as well, it's fast and also has code highligting, what more can want.
Notepad2 | Download Notepad2 software for free at SourceForge.net
Also might as well mention meta pad for their nice mass replace options.
Metapad: fast, tiny and powerful Windows notepad replacementDynaIndex.com - Dynamic search index of websites, links, feeds, title, description, keywords and thumbnail snapshot.

I prefer to use PhpED by NuSphere. Yes it isn't free, but for larger projects things like auto-complete for you own custom variables, functions, class methods, etc, plus many other things, it was well worth the money. It does have some extras like SSH client and mySQL client built in, but I rarely use them as I already had SecureCRT and Navicat for those. I have used some others like ZendStudio (sucks ever since version 6 when they built it on Eclipse)[Paid], NetBeans[Free] and Aptana (also based on eclipse)[Free].
I do program full time for PHP applications, so again, worth teh cost to me for how much it speeds up my productivity, especially working on multiple projects in the same day.
For free, yes notepad++ is great. I used to use UltraEdit back before buying Zend Studio.
