Frontpage 2000 - PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have used FP 2000 for many years and have never had a problem with it.
I have VISTA Home Premium (plenty of disk space) and I use PhotoImpact X3 to create my graphics, revise the photos that I need & make frames if needed. I save the photos in PNG format.

I have a graphic intensive Cattery website that needed a new .html page done. I save my work after each insertion as a precautioin. I created the .html page and added graphics & photos, saved the page and published to the server. I checked the page on the Web and everything looked great.

The next day, I needed to correct a misspelled word and opened the new .html. When I opened the page, all of the graphics & photos were GONE!! and all of the graphics & photos that I had saved to "images" were not there either. I thought maybe "human error" and added everything back on the .html page, saved it and then closed the page.

I have repeated this procedure 3x and each time when I close the program and open it back up. Everything on this particular page and image folder is GONE again.

Also, I noticed that after I updated Avast! Home Premium (I have used this program for ages with no problem), that on FP icon on my desktop had a little, orange lock next to it. I can only assume that the antivirus software put it there. I have done a "repair" on FB. Still no success in creating the page. I also have deleted FB and reinstalled it and that little orange lock is still there. I uninstalled Avast but, that didn't help either. The little, orange lock is still there.

I haven't a clue as to why this is happening or, how to correct it. I would appreciate any help that any of you can give me. I should have had this work done "yesterday".
