| Need some help with forms
I have this little site on the net. It's main function is to keep some of my favourites online so that I can have access to them where ever I go.
Now I would like to add a form to some hidden page, that would allow me to easily add a link to the links page where ever I am.
I'm using Frontpage 2002.
Could someone help please ?
Thanks very much in advance,
CM. |

Well the form part is easy
What you need is a CGI behind it to do all the work.
All a form can do is pass the info, you'll need a program or script to actually, open, edit and save the file updating it with the new link.

edwelly: im talking about the forms one can add in Frontpage for example? I was wondering if I could use those to add links, im willing to change the layout of the links page if thats necessary?.
jkrohn: cgi, how hard or easy would be to make such a script?
FreakyOCR: yeah there's quite a funny one's there hehe
You know how some websites have very simple message boards, where you use the form to add a post and your e-mails is a link? Can I have a form simply to add an address and make it a link?. Not sure if Im explaining this right

Can you use PHP on your server?
If so I think I have a script that will work. |
