| Keeping track of passwords and usernames
Okay..... I know I'm not the only one that has this problem..... I must have well over a hundred usernames and passwords.... and keeping track of them is a pain in the butt. I was wondering if some of you could share your way of keeping track of your usernames and passwords...
IE: Spiral Notebook, Text File stored on diskette, text file on zip disk.....whatever
I was just looking for a better way of keeping track of all mine....... (securely---gator--nope).... and was wondering if anyone had any interesting solutions.
Crouse
My current method...... Text file on a zip disk that is password protected.... my worry.... having the disk fail. |

That doesn't work for me..... just because of the security risk if someone guesses(finds) my password out. Don't want all my eggs in one basket I guess.......
Good thought though.... |

Same PW for everything is a bad idea... if one is compromised, all is potentially compromised. Changing existing PWs every so often is a good idea, too. Imo.
I write mine down in a ledger .. manually.. with a pen. Old-fashioned, but I never lose them... just have to remember to do it each and every time, and for every pw change. In fact, I just bought a new ledger and will br transferring as the old ledger is pretty tore up
I try to keep them sectioned.. i.e., emails, forums, OS / Apps, ICQ numbers, etc... eventually, no matter how many blank pages I leave for future entries, things end up scattered... lol

Text file, then on to a floppy. That's what I do, seems to work good for me. |
