Say I have a link to a ftp site: ftp://username@ftp.domainname.com
Can I put this link in a frame and have it open in another frame?
I can't exactly tell this link to open a new window btw, b/c I'm not writing the code...a program is doing it for me, and there isn't an option for which frame to open it in. |

well, ok, let me re-explain...it's a flash button that's doing this.
Perferrably, I'd like the ftp site to stay within the frameset, but I'm not sure if this is possible. Every time I click on the flash button within the frame, it gives 'page not displayed'. But in the preview of the button, and in the saved html (non-frames) file, it comes right up and asks for the password like it should. However, when I copy the <object> code into the html that loads the flash button, it doesn't do like it should.
Hence my question.

are you making the flash button yourself? if so, according to the documentation you should be able to specify the frame name in the "window" property of getURL();
here's the description of getURL() from the website getURL()
or if you're making them from within Fireworks or some other app, try looking for a "window" or "target" property for the button when you make it, and put the frame name into it.
g'luck!  |

specifically, the button's made from a program called Mixfx. Found it on the internet for $27.00...not too shabby to create neat little flash movies in under five minutes.
I've fixed it by creating an animation in Cool3d and exporting it as a .gif, and using regular html to do what I need. Thx. for the info hyd.
