Having problems with apache and CGI...

I can't seem to get any of my CGI's running at all. Specifically, i'm talking about ikonboard. I can't seem to reach my installer.cgi. And when i rename installer.cgi to installer.pl, it prompts me to download it (which i obviously don't want). Any and all help would be appreciated.

PS. I seem to have problems with ScriptAlias too.

heh, i've read so many forums and pages and FAQs that it hurts. Okay, my specific problem is this:

I have my /cgi-bin/ empty. my ScriptAlias points to c:/board/installer.cgi

When i try http://localhost/cgi-bin/installer.cgi, I get a 500 internal server error. I've already went into installer.cgi and changed the top line to that it points to my perl.exe

I can't figure out the problem for the life of me.

ok...the problem is that apache does not have access to that folder. my recommendation would be to bring ikonboard to your htdocs folder.

Okay, thanks. I'll try that out as soon as i can. But should i create a new folder in htdocs? or should I just move all the files into htdocs?

i put the installer.cgi (along with the rest of the files) into my htdocs folder, but to no avail. do you have anymore suggestions? I still get the 500 internal server error.

Is the very first line of the file pointing to the location of PERL? (Is it the correct location? =])

Also, does Apache have access to that directory (Read/Execute)?
