beginner with c++ and need help with an assignment

Im really new at programming with c++ (or any kind of programming language at that) and i need some help with an assignment i have at school.

i know you think this may be cheating on my part, but i'm at a dead end and just want to LEARN how this stuff works.

the assignment is of a class that creates a list of numbers, in an array and then sorts them, (my teacher has written most of the code for us students) he is wanting us to implement another public function to sort the array and another to check to see if it sorted it correctly...


now i know this isn't enough info for you to help me...but if your interested in helping me and maybe showing me how this all works then just email me about it and i'll email the code for ya to check out.

Just google "C sort array" sans quotes. Plenty of help on the web.

Yeah, there's loads of sort algorithms out there, some are faster or more efficient than others. It should be fairly easy to find an example in C and adapt it for your purposes.
Checking the sort would be far easier, you just need to step through the array with something like

boolean isSorted = true;
for (int i = 0; i < length-1; ++i)
    if (array[i] > array[i+1]) {
        isSorted = false;
        break;
    }
return isSorted;
