yep that about covers it. perl scripts are running fine. my ultimate goal is to have ikonboard running. i need 3 modules for win32 B_File Perl module, DBI Perl module , and DBD-Mysql Perl module. i have php4.2.3 and mysql installed. can you tell me i put the correct add module and load module and such in httpd.conf (i think) as per the php installation instructions. but when i start apache it says it cannot load c:/windows/php_mysql.dll, i have verified that it is there, and that my php.ini file points to c:/windows as my extensions folder. i was thinking that maybe it was an issue with the'/' , but i still get an error "unable to load dynamic library 'c:\windows/php_mssql.dll' - the specified procedure could not be found. i am lost, i am thinking maybe i am loading the wrong dll since it is 'ms' sql rather than 'my' sql...please any direction would be helpful |

I cant think right now, But How did you install php, mysql, and apache.
One of the most common problems I hear of is always solved by going through the C:\windows\php.ini file. Make sure to check your paths.
Check your apache logs
If you just wanting to get up and running quick you can try FoxServ (Im not sure if they fixed it but make sure you install into C:\Foxserv or you will have a hard time getting everything to work.) |

yeah i ran through php.ini, all seems correct, can you be a little more specific on what you want to know when you ask "how did you install php mysql and apache" apache has been on my pc for a while running fine. i have downloaded so many versions of php over the year it is sick cuz i never get it to work. but now i downloaded php4.2.3 and installed it into c:\php, made all the entries in my conf file, edited my php.ini file, moved all my extension to c:\windows, i havent done anything with mysql, which should i get working first? |

When I asked how you installed them, I was just wondering if you used something like a apache, php, mysql installer or each package downloaded from the sites. I take it you downloaded each.
I may be wrong but mssql is the microsoft thing and you dont need it to load. I dont think there is a dll to load to get stuff to work with mysql.
I have removed apache and such awhile ago but from what I remeber all you really need to do is:
Install apache
unzip(or something else) php to a dir
Copy the needed files(php.ini) to the right directory, I cant remember but you may need to copy the php/sapi/php4apache.dll to the system32 folder also You might need to copy the php/php4ts.dll to the system32 folder as well.
You need to edit the windows/php.ini to the correct paths and uncomment the extensions you might need.
Edit your apache config file(httpd.conf) to include the php stuff, Which I think is included in the php zip file or whatever you downloaded.
If you look Search you should be able to find where a few other people have been helped to get other forum software running.
EDIT: Heres a link to setup Apache, PHP, and MySQL (Link). Maybe that will help some.
