Which did you install first? AutoCAD from the sounds of it. I've never had that problem, but I always intalled AutoCAD first.
Does it request ACAD.MSI or ACADMAP.MSI? I have 2002Map5, so I've probably got a different installer (.msi is an installer file) than you do.
I have no idea how to fix the problem. I would start by reinstalling VB6. If I had a problem between the two of them, that's what I usually did, and it usually worked. You don't have to uninstal, just install right over the top of your existing stuff.
Otherwise I would maybe check your default references in
VB and make sure that the acad stuff isn't checked. I don't know if that makes or difference, or if it even does that, but it's a guess.
I programmed my VBAcad stuff almost exclusively with ACAD's onboard
VB IDE. I got so used to it, I forgot how to use VB6 IDE at one point.
Sorry can't be more help. I haven't been working in two months, so I'm a little rusty.
Oh, and welcome to TechIMO.
