played with Flash a bit now and then... tried Swish also, but that was quite awhile back when it didn't support very much...
but mainly I find that I'm very "artistically challenged" so flash and I don't get along very well!!
personally tho, I'm getting sick of flash intros... very first thing I do is look for the "skip" button... but on the other hand, I don't mind a nice flash interface now and then...

I cant say i'm a flash fan.
Flash can take way too long to load on a 56k connection. Not to mention it can run real slow on older computers.
But its not to bad if its only used a little.

I use it... I wish others wouldn't, though. I've been using it for 2 and a half years now, and rarely publish anything I create, simply because I know that I personally HATE it when somebody downloads it, and next week is uploading something that they feel is a work of art, yet takes forever for me to download and is as annoying as hell.

I use it a liitle. Nice program. Only started using it because I'm using Authorware. Used to use the one that comes with CorelDRAW, but it's a hog. Haven't tried swish yet. Works great for e-learning and presentation type work. |

Im messing with FlashMX right now, and im having a really hard time learning it, i mean C++ is easier than this!
I have seen some really good, funny works of art with flash, and many are worth downloading.
I do believe that my favorite would be the starwars gangsta rap that somebody decided to make, and is really good, also, the mario twins one is funny.
But gonads and strife is just insanity, somebody was high and made that one.
I plan to use Flash to support my buddies site who has a wonderful gift for music, and plan to see flash used like never before its really blowing me away. |

My take on flash. If your talking for websites, I'm don't like it...........usually. To many people use flash just because it is the newest bell/whistle toy for the web.
Waiting for a 1-2 mb download when going to a website is an agonizing thing for dialup users..........and there are alot of dialup users. What's REALLY annoying to me is when I go to a website that has a FLASH intro, and NO WAY TO SKIP past it. I can't understand why anyone would want to drive visitors AWAY.......... because that's exactly what that does.
Now I have seen some GREAT flash stuff on the net.... a couple joke sites...and some music sites. Music sites tend to be where I give alot more leeway when it comes to flash. If someone is going to music sites, alot of times they have cable or dsl..... music sites are known to be bandwidth heavy and that seems pretty "normal". I still however like the sites better when designed with the average dialup user in mind, and perhaps link to a subsection just for the highspeed group.
Flash is the ultimate bell and whistle, but if it doesn't really add anything in the way of content........ it was just a wasted 6 minutes for a dialup user.
Until 90% of internet users are at dsl speed or faster, you can bet Flash won't be in my site designs.
However for presentations, demo cd's, stuff that isn't used on the internet, it could be a great tool. I don't really have anything against flash other than it is a huge bandwidth hog and the whole "flash intro no skip button" thing. Pet peeves I guess. |

Personally, I dislike flash sites where it asks me to download the recent version of the Flash plug-in....
