Personally......... I hate flash..... but that's just me. I'm not one to hang out at radio websites much. Eye candy okay.....gifs, jpgs, other common images.... but flash is such a bandwidth hog.
IMO at least don't use it for the main entrance page.
Keep us posted |

Some basic qualities of a "good" website (all of these are my opinions of course...not facts )
1. A domain name that relates to site
2. Ton's of content (not just eye candy)
3. w3c compliant pages
4. Very fast loading
5. Pleasing design (but fast loading )
6. Good use of whitespace
Reasons.......
1. A name can say alot about a site
2. Would be like eating a ham sandwich with no ham.
Has to be something of substance on a site for someone to return.
3. Compliant pages can be viewed by more browsers and therefor more people.
4. If people have to wait for pages to load....they are more likely to leave......that's a fact.
5. Must use colors and design styles that are easy on the eyes. No one likes looking at a webpage with neon green background and orange text.......... (do they ?)
6. Good use of white space is a given on any text document. Paper doc or web doc......it's just good practice.

And you should put as much content as possible within one click of the first page. You lose 50% of your audiance with each click.
Flash can be very useful if kept to a minimum for a content page. For a show page, the whole thing using flash is okay to me.
Flash menus can add a lot of originality, and simple, small menus don't take much more bandwidth than a rollover menu does.
But I'm just an amateur too, so. |

I am one of the few people here who love FLASH. But I do agree that it needs to be done in moderation.
My main things are:
1) color scheme (to me most important)
2) domain name (agree with Crouse, it says a lot)
3) layout (I don't like a whole web site on the 1st page but I like it to have somethings)
4) I like straight lines and nothing that looks cheap (check out this site http://www.sonicfoundry.com/ - I think it is fantastic. Just the right amount of everything)
hope this helps... and good luck!
