| What's so good about Dreamweaver anyway?
I need a little help here.
I've been asked a simple question, to which I don't really have the answer.
The question is this:
Why use Dreamweaver for web site creation, why don't you not use Frontpage instead?
Any one care to take a shot at this.
Thanks.

Well, for one thing, Frontpage seems to output IE specific, mangled HTML... but that's just IMO.
I dunno, it does have a lot more advanced options available. |

jman01pa and samwichse
I do thank you for the fast input. And jman01pa, thanks for the link.
Jman01pa, why do you use Frontpage?
samwichse, what web creation software do you use?
Appreciate your thoughts.

I use a combination of front page and dreamweaver...
Dreamweaver is so much easier to use and much cleaner code. Smaller web pages and server management.
However....
For some reason dreamweaver has problems in manupliation of nested tables.
That is the only reason I keep frontpage around...
Other than that it is ALL Dreamweaver!!!

I started using Frontpage Express way back when. Then I just migrated into Frontpage 98, 2000 and now XP. I am real familiar with the usage of Frontpage but I lack any creative abilty. I refuse to use there themes. They have a canned look. FP is a great starter package.
I would like to try Dreamweaver or something similiar.

Dreamweavers code is readable........ I use neither prefering a nice html/text editor (Bluefish in linux or NoteTabPro in windows) and coding by hand. Frontpage or Dreamweaver are okay if you want to get your feet wet and start producing acceptable looking webpages right away. Nothing beats knowing how the code works though. I think most serious web designers use Dreamweaver or code by hand. |

I used to be a Front Page FANTATIC but I started playing around witn Dreamweaver and I have never went back. It took me quit sometime to figure out jy ay around the app. but it was well work it. I can't say that Dreamweaver is better for this or that reson, I just like it better. I like the way you can layout the web site and the way that you can edit the code if you need too... ( I find this much easier in DW)
Sorry I could be more specific...
