    ColdFusion

I purchased macromedia studio mx. It came with coldfusion. So i installed it and have made a webpage using its database and such and have tested it on my home computers that are all networked together. If I have my friends try to go to my ip addy they get 404 page not found or something like that. How do i make it so other ppl can se mit site?

do they get a 404 or do they get a permission denied?
Several things could be a factor

    1. Are you behind a router? You may have to turn on port forwarding to forward port 80 to your webserver
    2. Does your ISP allow port 80 requests? You may have to change the IP your webserver runs off of to 8080 or something.
    3. Make sure you have your permissions set correctly to allow anonymous requests to your webserver.

    What OS?
    What webserver?

forward all traffic on port 80 to IP 192.168.1.100 (or whatever IP your webserver is on)
if that still doesn't work you'll want to try port 8080 or something.
some ISP's dont allow port 80 traffic because they dont want you to run a webserver from your machine.

If you change the port your web traffic comes in your friends will have to put something like

http://169.254.100.1:8080 to make sure traffic goes to port 8080 (mind you fix the IP, its just an example)

    then I'd suggest asking him
Its specific to your type of router.

    wait till morning lol
You'll have to login to the router, and that will require a password which I'm sure he'll have to give you
