Ok I need to get a good datetime picker for another application we have at work. It has an option to pull a lot of theactivex controls from the machine, but its kinda of picky so it doesn't find the datetime picker...
How would you display it for a website? Mind you I dont' want the calendar control.. that thing is way too big.
For instance, if you were to use an object tag in a website what would you put in there to get to MS datetime picker?
Attached is the form I have to fill out to get this picker into the application.
Thanks |

This can't be THAT difficult
I just need to know how to call a MS datetime picker for a website ...
I don't want to use a 3rd party only because that will require the client to install it.

Uhh, you can use that COM DTPicker. You should have it installed on your machine as I assume it is installed with Access or VB or something.
About the EASIEST way to add it to a web page that I can think of (Since I don't have Frontpage at home) would be to open a blank project in .Net and add an HTML page and add a COM Date Time Picker to the tool box and drag it onto the HTML page. Save the HTML page and that's it. Unless you wanted to code it manually with it's 19 paramaters.
BTW, if you just drag it to the HTML page, you can switch to HTML view and see the object tag coding that it genereates. It's somewhat lengthy to type out manually. |

arghhh I have VS.net, but I don't have any IIS box to plug into. (I refuse to run IIS from my own box for obvious reasons.. even patched I don't want it anywhere near my work machine!)
Anybody know the code for it!?
hmm actually i wouldnt' want to use the vs.net dtpicker cause I wouldnt' want the .NET dtpicker.. I want the standard one for windows. I hate web stuff lol

Cool. But you don't have to have IIS and make an ASP page, you can just make an HTML page.
You put it in Word and saved it as HTML? That's cool. Word does have the tendency to mess up pages in my experience. But if you're starting from sractch, I guess it should be alright. |

well I don't give a rip about the html/xml Word generates, all I wanted was the info for the DTPicker
I just needed that info to put into the other application and it worked The only problem is the user gets a popup about installing a activex control :/ So I may look around for another control that won't do that.
Probably should of put this into the webmaster forum
For IIS it wanted either IIS or something to plug into for a web solution.. I guess I could of picked the wrong option though |
