want to make a folder viewable

I don't think that makes sense, but anyways, here goes

I have a folder called /pics and another one. When I had geocities, I could just delete the index.html file from the subdirectory and it would just list all the files in the folder. I want to do that with /pics. there are no html files at all, just .jpg etc.

I have changed my access to allow it, but it still doesn't work. Any other suggestions?

I am @work so I can't exactly tell you what setting I changed, I believe it was chmode?

what kind of box are you working with?
If its geocities, I don't think they allow you to do the list view. (I could be wrong, never tried )

it'll be an apache/iis setting that allows the directory view so it depends on what OS/Webserver you're running.

how would I know all that? I have an account with Aplushosting.com . I have the A+ Eternal account and use Frontpage (whatever comes with Office XP)

I use CuteFTP to do easy uploads and do all my site stuff thru the FP "publisher" (yeah, I am lazy, and it is easy)

They could have directory browsing/viewing disabled. You might want to contact your hosting service and ask them how to accomplish it.
