I am tring to run a web server, I have a T1 line, i have a high powered PC running Windows 2000 Server, i also have a static IP address. All the necessery ports I needed to run a web server are open. I want to run my own DNS server so I installed the component i need to do that. I am at the understanding that i need to setup a FORWARD and REVERSE Lookup Zones. This is were im confused. I need alittle be more info on how i go about successfully Installing a DNS server. Also, after doing this, i know that i need to go where i registerd my site, and set the DNS setting as the following example:
Primary : ns0.yoursite.com <----how can i aquire this?
secondary: ns1.yoursite.com <----how can i aquire this?
I know I need these settings to point to my Machine. OVerall i need help.
Some on please enlighten me with your knowledge, because as you can tell, i am not knowledgable.
