couldn't you just upload the "rude" image with the same name as the one that's being hotlinked and just change the name of the one that is hotlinked?

The site www.angelfire.com is running Squeegit/1.2.5 (3_sir) on Linux
Not sure what kind of server Squeegit is, or if it is a gzip compression program for apache.
Using a .htaccess file with apache, you can make other images show up on hotlinked images, so an alternate image is displayed in place of the hot linked one. The code for this is: replace mydomain.com with your own, plus replace stupid.gif with whatever you want to show up in place of hotlinked images.
Put the .htaccess file in whatever image directory you want to protect from image hotlinking.

Last time I used Angelfire, they automatically have an image that says something along the lines of 'This image is hosted by Angelfire' EDIT: But now, I just checked again and they don't seem to do that anymore. Just do what Mntsnow did, and you'll be cooking!! |

Thanks, crouse
I'll check with Mntsnow to see if he's come up with a script to automate the process... |
