Hey guys,
I installed IIS 5.0 on my Computer (P4 2.2GHZ, 768MB RAM) for testing and development purposes. However, I cannot access the web page from other computers through internet. Of course there is no problem to access the site from the computer where I installed IIS Server, even if I connect thru my no-ip.com address...
I dont know what configuration mistakes I made...
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

what OS are you running? XP Pro or win2k? do you have a firewall? if your running XP Pro make sure your built in firewall is not activated in any way. if you are running a firewall make sure that its allowed out and able to receive connections.

Hey Chris,
thanks for your reply.
I run Win2000 Pro, and yes, I do have Norton Firewall.
I doubt that this may be an issue, since I turned it off to see if that may be the reason, but I still couldnt connect to the server.
Also, I do have a network with a router (linksys), but the http port is set so that it forwards connections to the right computer. Even when I set the Server as a DMZ host, connections can not be established.
Thanks for any help!

Is the "World Wide Web Publishing Service" service running?
Are you going to the correct IP?
Can you connect out to the Internet from the web server?

can you ping the IIS5 box from an outside source? if you PM me your IP, i'd be happy to ping it for you. are you using host headers? if you leave it blank it will respond to everything - thats how you want it for now.

your computer didn't respond to a ping, i'm running a scan to see what ports are open. i'll post the results when i'm done.

well host header has nothing to do with pings, but just for the info, it still doesn't work. i see that port 80 IS open. but it doesn't detect anything behind it. what model of router do you have? can you show us a screen shot of the routing table and/or the port forwarding?
