Do any of the products that claim to do this for you do any better than doing it yourself?
Has anyone used a search engine submission service that is worth the $$?
Is paid registering vs. registering for free worth it? |

i've never bought one of those, and i'd never even consider it.
search engines like Google, Yahoo and AltaVista tend to list sites eventually anyway, through links from other sites. Check out my "www" link in my profile.... Google may follow that, for example, and find my site eventually.
If the word "eventually" puts you off, then try http://www.ineedhits.com or http://www.submitit.com - these places offer free-of-charge and paid-for search engine submitting services.
i've never tried any installable applications for this job, but i wouldn't consider doing so either

so it seems...
most search engines, by nature, seem to work, as in search for techino, get www.techimo.com... |

It seems most search engines, I use, do a decent job of 'spidering' the web. A good thing. Quote: |

If you use real people names, that's called "googling" somebody. Try it yourself. |

Yep, they will pick it up automatically like you can do a search on me for embj or embj techimo. embj techimo shows up 10 pages of results for me. embj shows almost I would say 75-80% of things regarding me somehow seeing that I am embj all over the net.
