Hi there I'm very new and I want to study a bit about perl, yet I don't even know where to start, where to download the compiler and documents, can you please give me some hints ?
If you are after a book to get started you could do worse than checkout OReilly's "Learning Perl". Its very easy to read and covers enough of the basics to get you up and running. www.perlmonks.org also has a community of perl users with plenty of snippets of code posted on a regular basis.
If you are using Windows then you probably want to grab a copy of activestates Perl interpreter for the Win32 platform. If you are using some form of unix then you may well allready have a copy of Perl installed or on your installation media.
Regards
eddy
