You probably entered the wrong URL to your phpbb installation, so phpbb is redirecting the user to an invalid URL.

try looking in the config.php file for the settings for your database.
Are you refering to the Portal system of phpBB2 or just the forum version? |

I had a simillar problem when using YaBB, go through the config file and find something like /Members="www.my-site.com". Im not too familliar with phpbb but there should be something along that lines in the config file, if all else fails the comment line will tell you which line it is. More than likely you either missed this and didnt change it or you mispelled something when you did change it.
I forgot to change the location of the images and it was all coming up a big blank until I was like doh!
Hope that helps.
[edit]
I just took a look on the admin page of the YaBB forum that I run under Forum prefrences and settings, and it actually has a section for the directory settings in it. Im not sure like I sad if phpbb is anything like this, but if you don't feel like searching through your config file for the settings try looking to see if phpbb has something similar to this.

you need a mysql database. http://diving.dyndns.org is a copy of one I installed. Everything works great on it. Are you sure that tripod supports php?

You need to be on a host that allows you to use mysql in order to use the database. |

The mysql server would already installed if you were on a server that allowed you to use it. You just enter the mysql command and then create a databse.
If you are running a server and want to download the mysql server, it is open source, aka free. http://www.mysql.com/ |
