Visual Studio.Net can do this. The latest issue of .Net Developer's Journal (I think thast is the name) has an article on Pocket PC dev. |

Thing is, if you develop with VS.NET, the client (the Pocket PC) must have the .NET framework installed.
I noted that you said you have the POS software and the wireless devices themselves, but no mention of the middleware.
Have you built the middleware? That is, the go-between software that will pick up the transmission from the hub, massage it, and put it in the POS package? That's an important piece. And usually more complex than the client app that will live on the handheld. |

Oh I forgot about the VS.NET, however if you still want to develop software for POcketPC2000 (winCE3.0) and winCE without buying the VS.NET yet, you can try: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I just got the software but haven't know anything about middleware and PPC dev. can you tell me more about it pls?

foodbiz,
Looks to me like you need a bit more than just a PPC developer.
You'll need someone who's familiar with the POS platform, how to get data into the POS package once the data is on the machine itself, how to get the data onto the machine from the outside world (via the wireless connection), and how to get access from the outside.
The middleware I was talking about is the software/hardware needed to get the above working.
On the PPC front, you'll need someone to build the app itself: the user interface, the local data is store, and the behind-the-scenes interface to the middleware.
The PPC app can be built in concert with the middleware or can be built except for the interface to the middleware and that interface built as the middleware approaches completion.
The middleware will be just as important (some would say even more important) than the visible app itself. As you already know, the handheld app would not be of much use if it can't talk with the POS. |
