server side installation

I'm running a small personal server on windows 2000 pro. Is there a way i can run cgi/perl scripts off of it. I've heard of actually having to install it in a special place in the server, but i haven't had much luck, anyone that could lend me a tip? '

You could download and install ActivePerl:

http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActivePerl/

That should make PERL work site-wide for you.

... besides that you of course need perl in itself you might consider to run Apache with the mod_perl module. Instructions here CC.

Running mod_perl might be a little overkill for a personal server, especially if someone is just learning how to do all this stuff..
