How do I set up a test server?

How do I set up a test server on my machine for some myphpnuke stuff? I dont wanna upload anything to the net yet. I want to test it all on my machine first.

You could load apache to run on 127.0.0.1 (localhost), then install PHP and Perl (if its needed), and then you have your own little webserver that you can test entire websites with

Apache Website
PHP Website

I'm sure we'd all be glad to walk you through the installation and configuration. So just post when your ready

browse to 127.0.0.1 in your browser. see if an apache confirmation windows pops up. if it does, then just drag-n-drop your website into the www root (don't know where that would be).

remember to install PHP and Perl!

o yes, for PHPNuke you'll need MySQL server. which is somewhat difficult to setup. i use it on a windows platform though... so maybe i can help

i just installed PHP Nuke on my IIS 5 server to see how it all worked and so i could help you better, having a bit of trouble! i'm sure we can get this setup though
