| Help uploading jpeg file!
Hi there folks,
I need some help please!?
I have some free space with my ISP, so thought I'd create a page where family and friends can view pics off my digital camera.
The site is http://homepage.ntlworld.com/t.doyle64/ and is VERY basic, but all I need for now!
For some reason the picture won't show....have I done something wrong??????
Thanks!
The html 'stuff' I have used is as follows...
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>Tracey's Pictures</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<body bgcolor="cyan">
<BODY TEXT=blue>
<b>
<font size=6 face="comic sans ms">Welcome to Tracey's Pictures....Hope you like them!</font>
<b>
<p>
<img src=Leiane3.jpg>
</BODY>
</HTML>  |

| Code:
This
<img src=Leiane3.jpg>
Should look like this
<img src="Leiane3.jpg"> assuming that the image is in the SAME directory as the html page.

Also you gotta close that bold tag with a </b>.
If you want to use "<img src="Leiane3.jpg">", the file must be in the same dir. If its not, do what cracked mentioned by entering the full path, I prefer the first option though since if you move your site to a new host, you do not need to update everything, just place the file back in the same dir.

I have created the page in notepad and saved it as "index.html"....am I on the right track so far ??)

For your first site, create on your DESKTOP a new folder... call it anything you like...... put your image and the index.html file you create in it.
Sounds like your on the right track so far. Keep going... it isn't too hard I promise.
Once you get the wsftple program downloaded... just install it. Then we can go from there if you can't get all your stuff uploaded to your webspace. WSFTP is one of the very best FTP (file transfer protocol) programs around.
Let us know when you get it installed. |
