Newbie to Hosting

hey all... About the best hosting i havehad so far is WEB1000

Anyway i have been looking at DOTEASY for some hosting (7.95) and had a few newbie questions..DOTEASY

1. will i always be able to link to any page on the webspace
eg: http://www.whatever.com/1
/2
/3
So could i link to these pages directly???

2. Is the doteasy ULTRA $7.95 ok..

3. Has anyone used the merchant service..

4. What is CGI / Perl / SSI..

I noticed you in Australia, well for starters the price on that site is in US$, and as you and i would know the Aus dollar isn't quite up there so around double it i guess.

Im in Sydney and i host with Domain Hosting Shop , that will will take you to their Australian Branch. I like the cause they have good packages and are reliable. Their servers are help in Syd. So check out there site.

Or you might want to check out Web-Media a guy i know owns that company and they have servers in Sydney and Brisbane so it would be fast connection for you. He offers alot of features with his packages (e.g chat setup, e-commerce software etc,,) and are easy to set up.

Hope at least one of those will help you out

4. What is CGI / Perl / SSI..

These are sripting languages and process's that make websites "dynamic" and not just static pages.

Perl is a very powerful language.
CGI stands for Common Gateway Interface.
SSI means Server Side Includes.
