Question
PROBLEM WITH TABLES BEING HIDDEN

I have an urgent need for assistance. After returning to work after a week off one of my databases will not display the tables or the queries! Everything works ok yet I get messages saying that the tables have been deleted!

I have tried creating new tables or queries and after saving them they are not visible. Is there a setting somewhere that hides tables and queries? I have compared this to a backup copy of the same database and can't find anything different. My backup doesn't contain some major changes I made prior to going on vacation so using it will require that I spend about a week redoing my changes.

Can someone help???? PLEASE email me directly at JEB@deltafaucet.com.

Thanks

I'm really surprised qball. There was not reason for that.

JimBritt,
Sorry, man. Most posts aren't as harsh as the one above. That sort of response if very uncharacteristic for our forum.
I wish I could help with your problem. I'm sure someone with that expertise will be along shortly.
Until then, Welcome to TechIMO.

What database system are you using?

What if you try to select all tables from your Database? (How to do this will differ by the DBMS) What shows up?
What if you try to describe your tables? Do they show up?
What if you manually run your queries from a console? Do they work?

Jkrohn

It sounds like he's using Access. Its the only DBMS that I've used that fits his definition of "queries", (as opposed to views, sp's, udf's, etc.).

If it is Access, go to Tools-->Options-->View and check "Hidden Objects"

Ok, here is my stab in the dark..........

If it's a mysql database, and using .asp or .php pages to display the files.... it almost sounds like you might have posted an OLDER webpage and it's trying to display a table or row that has been renamed or changed.

But if you answer jkrohn questions , I'm sure we can help you better than my WAG !

If you can't define the 'rule', how do you know broken?

first it was hateful and now rude?

censorship is NEVER a good thing!

KenKun/Moderator,

where is your help?

Can you understand English?
Can you read?
If yes, why do you need my help to explain the rules for you?
I didn`t say i can`t, i said i do not have to!! the rules are clear enough even for me who only studied English!

Simply, do not post messages out side the stated subject and don`t be rude!

In case you can`t read and understand English i will be glad to help you with the best i can. Fair enough for you?

About the censorship, we don`t censor anything but rude comments and out of line posts, profanity and non sense, other than that we will not touch anyone`s post, period

Now, if you have other questions contact me via PM, you crapped this thread way too much till now.

Any further posting in this thread (out of the topic) will cause you banning from our forums! Be informed!

Thank you.
