Does anyone know CGI?

I am using a CGI feedback form.

When people enter the correct info it all works fine.

But,

If they leave out the fields it takes them to a results page that I cannot edit.

Is there a way to have a redirect in case of incorrect entries?

For example something similar to this...

<input type=hidden name="redirect" value="http://www.something.com/forum_success.htm">

...that redirects people in the event of an error? (the above code only redirects when there is success).

Thanks!

Well, if it's a cgi you uploaded....... then you could change the perl script "assuming it's perl" and possibly correct it there........ if it's not IN your cgi bin and is a virtual-server cgi (one you don't get access too) then I'm at a loss of what you can do short of contacting the server admin, and see if he can fix it........

There should be a graceful exit for bad entries.....

Is it possible to enter a tag that would allow me to redirect to a page I made in case of bad entries ?

Are you using FormMail?

I believe this is a specific tag to form mail, and not to "CGI".

CGI stands for Common Gateway Interface and can be written in a variety of languages. If you were to put that tag into any form it would do nothing unless the script that acts on the form thinks that it means something.

All I can find on that specific tag is FormMail.

If you indeed are using formmail it would be much more helpful to include that next time Otherwise crouse is 100% correct and you would have to edit the script to check for all fields, and respond appropriately.
