ODBC problems

Here's the deal. We have MySQL databases hosted on a linux machine, and need Crystal Reports (a "wonderful" statistic gathering program) to connect to the database using the odbc driver. This is coming from a win2k machine.

Here's the problem, the odbc driver is installed on the windows machine, but it will not connect, the conection is always denied. I will assume here that I need to install an odbc manager of sorts on the server, but I dont have the time right now to read all the documentation. So unless anyone has some insight here I will pour through it after 1 today. thanks for any help.

The win2k box already has myodbc isntalled and crystal reports can successfully use it. (at least it says so)

I can telnet to port 3306 so it isnt a problem of connectivity. I am 100% sure of the database name and user.
Do I need to isntall an ODBC manager on the server? Or is there another problem here.

edit: Nevermind I had to grant permissions for the host to connect via the mysql server. sorry for the bother

edit :Nm, all working now I forgot to grant permissions for the remote host.

When I setup a 2K server here at home, I had to put MyODBC on it to accept the connections.
